5 Things No One Tells You About Your Wedding Day

Whether you're someone who has dreamed of your wedding day their whole life or was never interested until you found "the one," your wedding day is full of emotions and moments that will stay with you forever. With all the buildup, planning, and tips and tricks you get bombarded with online, here are the 5 things that no one truly tells you about on your wedding day.

Tip One

You won't remember any of your conversations. By the time you join your guests at the cocktail reception, so much will have happened emotionally. Your mind is struggling to keep up and it’s the first opportunity of the day for most people to talk with you, which is exciting. However, I honestly don't remember a single thing I said.

Tip Two

You won't have time to eat. No matter how hard you try, there is always a photo to be taken, a conversation to be had, or questions that need answering. I managed to get 2 canapΓ©s and no evening food, so I spent the day pretty hungry.

Tip Three

Moments go by in the blink of an eye. All those cute moments that you think about for months and years such as the confetti throw, champagne tower and bottle popping shot genuinely only last 30 seconds. Trust me you will struggle to remember them so don't overthink it.

Tip Four

The morning is the most precious time. It's the perfect calm before the storm when your immediate family and friends come together to celebrate you. Enjoy every second.

Tip Five

It won't truly feel like it's YOUR wedding. It's a day full of expectation, planning and build-up. One that you always see happening to other people but never quite grasp that one day it will be you. Maybe this one is just me but I went through waves of feeling like a guest and then realising I needed to take centre stage.

Throughout the entire duration of the day, I failed to notice any of these minor imperfections. Considering the multitude of moments that happen within a span of twenty-four hours, those small details truly go unnoticed. Instead, embrace each passing moment in the presence of cherished loved ones, relishing every beautiful-taking second.
